Job Description

A Local Authority is seeking a Resettlement Officer to work with substance misuse and ex offending client groups for an initial three month period to assist them from hospital and high support environments into temporary accommodation.

Your main duties will be to complete reports on clients in relation to their ability to secure adequate housing. You will advise housing management staff on their vulnerability status. Furthermore you will assess the level of support required and help to coordinate the move making maximum use of other community resources eg outreach services.

Your role will go through the entire re-settlement process - from viewing accommodation with clients, liaising with support services and making visits to ensure the clients receive the correct amount of support. You will also assist the clients applying for benefits, grants, and furniture and equipment needed for their new home.

To apply for this role, you must have excellent experience working with substance misuse and ex-offending client groups and resettlement. A current CRB disclosure is essential for this position.
