Equal Opportunities and Diversity

Welcome to our Equal Opportunities and Diversity hub.

Spirit Resourcing has adopted a strategy that aims to incorporate a mixture of approaches from equal opportunities and diversity frameworks.

Our Equal Opportunities policy helps us to militate against any of our employees or temporary staff being subjected to any discrimination based on their ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religious belief or lack thereof and nationality. This homogenized approach ensures no group is subject to such discrimination, whilst our diversity policy helps us ensure that differences are respected.

Spirit exemplifies EO and Diversity throughout its entire structure - from its BME female ownership through to its Directors and employees.

We publish on a half yearly basis, representative sample figures collected from responses made on our equal opportunities monitoring form which all new registrants are invited to complete. It should be emphasised that these statistics relate solely to data provided to and recorded by Spirit Resourcing.

We believe that we are one of the very first recruitment agencies in the UK to do this and we hope that this data is of interest to our candidates, clients and others.

Source of Equal Opportunity Monitoring Data

Every candidate that registers with Spirit Resourcing is invited to complete an EO monitoring form. It is not a pre requirement of registration as a ‘decline to answer’ option is available.

Please click here if you wish to see or download a copy of our monitoring form.

Published Equal Opportunity Monitoring Data

Data collected by Spirit Resourcing is published in statistical form only and is completely anonymous. In any highly unlikely scenario where published data may identify an individual, the figures will not be published. However the volume and collection timeframe from which statistical data is sourced should prevent this from occurring.

At present it is our policy to publish and monitor our data at the relevant timescales listed below. We aim to address any areas where we feel we can make an appropriate positive impact as it is our intention to demonstrate that the collection of this data can be something more than a passive exercise. Any such action taken to address groups identified as under-represented will be detailed on this page.

Below you can see collected equal opportunity data under two separate categories. These are;

  1. Ethnic origin, age and gender of candidates registering with Spirit
  2. Ethnic origin, age and gender of candidates placed by Spirit into temporary or permanent roles.

The information for ‘registered' candidates is collected from a random sample of 200 authenticated forms. The statistics for ‘placed’ candidates are derived from forms completed by a random sample of 100 candidates placed by Spirit Resourcing. This data is collected bi-annually.

Please note - to enable meaningful graphical representation the following categories have been grouped together.

Black includes Black or Black British African, Black or Black British Caribbean or other Black.

White includes White British, White Irish or other White.

Asian includes Indian or Indian British, Pakistani or Pakistani British, Bangladeshi or Bangladeshi British or other Asian.

Mixed Race includes Mixed Black and White Caribbean, Mixed Black and White African, White and Asian or other mix.

Other includes races not defined above.

Spirit Resourcing will be pleased upon request to provide our clients and candidates with copies of our internal company monitoring data.

Please email info@spiritresourcing.com if you wish us to email you a copy of our equal opportunities and diversity policy.
